Dot is the town’s new school marm; what she lacks in experience she makes up for in determination. Ben is the school’s oldest student; what he lacks in formal education he makes up for in resourcefulness. Though they start off on the wrong foot, they quickly form an alliance when Minnie and Max barge right in and start surveying the property on which the school is built; Minnie wants to build a posh resort on the land, and Max wants to help her. The class’s recent history lesson regarding the Battle of Puebla (remembered today as Cinco de Mayo) proves particularly handy.
